The Beginning......

Sauces, Dips, Condiments have been around for years. The development of hot sauce dates back to the 1800's. The growth in its popularity is on the rise. There are sauces that cater to the die-hards that crave the hotter the better, there are the peeps that eat everything with hot sauce, there are the weekend warriors that try it on their breakfast at a local diner, and then there are tasters. True lovers of flavor combined with heat. Tasters are looking for that burn, but want to feel and experience various flavor profiles with that  burn.

The original hot peppers, vinegar, and salt are no longer the only hot sauce you can get. With curiosity at an all time high and the development of infusing, the flavor combinations are limitless. Garlic, Onion, Soy Sauce, Horseradish, Honey, Flavored Salts, Etc, Etc.

Now a days you can find a hot sauce to suit almost any mouth watering sauce lover. The development of hot sauce in US has tripled in the past 10 years.

Hot sauce is now big business in the US. In 1992 Salsa replaced Ketchup as Americas number one condiment. The race was on to cash in on the new ‘hot’ craze and by 1994 the Austin Hot Sauce Festival gets 350 entries into its competitions. Success at the show becomes a virtual guarantor of commercial success.

Of course there is more information regarding hot sauce in the States, and they have a larger market to sell to. With all that being said I think Canada has plenty to offer. We have access to the worlds largest land of natural resources. Our manufacturing is regulated and easy to work with.

So why aren't there more Canadian sauces on the market?

This is a question that needs to be addressed and I plan on dedicating and devoting my time to answer it!

Happy Hot Saucin!
